Sunday School Ministry

Operating on the belief that the Christian Church prioritizes both worship AND study, Sunday School at Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church seeks to help adults, adolescents, and children become more grounded in the fundamentals of the Christian faith and to acquire the tools necessary for examining scripture critically so that they can live out their faith with a firm understanding of what they believe, thereby serving effectively as disciples of Christ and as champions of social justice within their neighborhoods and the larger world community.

Book Club

The Ebenezer Book Club was organized under Pastor Emeritus Dr. Joseph L. Roberts in 2001. Yvonne Givens was chosen as the Club's first facilitator. Now, under the lead of Marcia Walton & Joyce McKay, the Book Club continues to be a ministry open to all members and people in our community who love to read and participate in energetic discussions.

Discipleship Study

The Ebenezer Discipleship Study uses the book "Treasures of the Transformed Life: Satisfying Your Soul’s Thirst for More" by John Ed Mathison as a 40-day study on discipleship. This deep-dive group study focuses on 4 parts: 1. Prayer 2. Presence 3. Presents (Gifts/Financial Stewardship) 4. Service
